On 16th of October 2019, once again, water discharge measurements and collection of water samples at the Narva River were carried out. This was the fifth measurement of water discharge and the second series of water sampling conducted simultaneously by Estonian and Russian specialists.
To date, an analysis of methods of water discharge calculation and their differences in Estonia and Russia has been made. Comparison of annual water discharge showed that according to the data of the Narva Hydroelectric Power Station (Russia) and the hydrolological monitoring station Narva city (Estonia) difference did not exceed 6%, and in 2003 and 2010 - 2014 varied from 16 to 27%. It is expected that simultaneous data collected during the project will reduce this difference and thus the accuracy of nutrient load estimation from both countries will be more precise.
